
If you’re planning to bring home a new SUV this Diwali season, wait a little as three models are set to hit showrooms very soon. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed the launch of the Escudo midsize SUV for September 3, while Hyundai will introduce the new-gen Venue subcompact SUV in October. Tata Motors is gearing up to roll out its highly-anticipated Sierra SUV with three powertrain options. Let’s delve into the key details of these 3 upcoming SUVs.

Maruti Escudo
The Maruti Escudo will be the second midsize SUV from the Indo-Japanese automaker, which is likely to share its powertrains, design elements and features with the Grand Vitara. As per fresh media reports, it will be the first Maruti Suzuki to feature Level 2 ADAS suite and Dolby Atmos audio technology. The Escudo will also come with a powered tailgate and 4WD (four-wheel drive) system. The Grand Vitara’s 103bhp, 1.5L petrol, 115bhp, 1.5L strong hybrid and CNG powertrains are expected to be carried forward.
New-Gen Hyundai Venue
Hyundai Motor India is betting big on the third-generation Venue to revive its position in the competitive subcompact SUV segment. The all-new model is likely to feature a larger and revised front grille with new inserts, new DRLs and taillamps, redesigned bumpers and new dual-tone alloy wheels. Inside, the 2025 Hyundai Venue might feature a newly-designed dashboard with new upholstery and trims, and a revised centre console along with a bunch of new features. Mechanically, the all-new Venue is likely to remain unchanged.
Tata Sierra
The all-new Tata Sierra is one of the biggest new SUV launches of this year. The model will be offered with three engine options – petrol, diesel and electric. The petrol version will initially be introduced with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will be followed by a 1.5L turbo petrol engine. The electric iteration is expected to source the 65kWh battery with single motor and 75kWh battery with dual-motor powertrain options from the Harrier EV. Both RWD and AWD drivetrains will be on offer.
