Launched in August 2019, the Kia Seltos was the maiden offering from the South Korean automaker in India. The midsize SUV has always been admired for its segment-leading features, premium interior quality, sporty design and multiple engine options. Since its arrival, the Seltos received minor updates every year, and now it’s ready for a generational upgrade in 2027. It will be the second-generation model, expected to receive significant design changes and feature upgrades along with a petrol-hybrid powertrain.

100mm Longer Than Before
According to a fresh media report, the new Kia Seltos will be nearly 100mm longer than the current model, which measures 4,365mm in length. This means, the all-new model will be 4,465mm long, thus making it the longest SUV in the segment. For reference, the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara measure 4,330mm and 4,345mm in length, respectively.

Longer Than Compass & More Boot Space
In fact, the new Seltos will be longer than the Jeep Compass, which is positioned a segment above, measuring 4,395mm in length. The stretched dimensions also suggest that the new Kia Seltos will be more spacious than the existing one. Its might also offer larger boot space. Most of its design changes will be inspired by the global-spec Kia Sportage SUV. Though, the original boxy and upright stance will remain intact.
Petrol-Hybrid Powertrain
One of the major upgrades will come in the form of the petrol-hybrid powertrain. The new-gen Kia Seltos is likely to feature a 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a strong hybrid system. The hybrid powertrain, however, could be reserved for the higher trims. The existing 1.5L MPi petrol, 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine will also continue to be offered.
More Premium Interior
The new Seltos might share several features from the Kia Syros such as a 30-inch Trinity display, front and rear ventilated seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, etc. The SUV is expected to come with the dual-tone Silver and Grey upholstery with contrasting orange inserts as revealed by previous spy images.
