At the worldwide box office, ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ fell short of the Rs 50 crore mark. The film has reportedly amassed an estimated Rs 49 crore, comprising Rs 41.15 crore gross from India and an estiamted Rs 7.85 crore from overseas markets.
Stiff Competition
Despite its steady collections in week two, the film continues to face fierce competition from other major releases. ‘Saiyaara’ remains the dominant force, earning over Rs 5 crore on Saturday alone. The romantic drama now boasts a massive Rs 315.84 crore India net and Rs 373 crore gross domestic collection, leaving ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ far behind.Meanwhile, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ is emerging as a box office superhit. The mythological animated film earned Rs 8 crore on Friday and nearly doubled that figure on Saturday with an estimated Rs 19.50 crore, taking its total to Rs 145.15 crore.‘Dhadak 2’, in comparison, is struggling to find its footing, managing just Rs 1.71 crore on Saturday and reaching Rs 19.01 crore in total.With such strong competition pulling in large crowds, ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ faces an uphill battle but is sure to move past the Rs 50 crore milestone in its second weekend.
