New Maruti SUV Launching On 3rd September
The Indo-Japanese automaker is all set to launch a new midsize SUV on September 3, 2025. The upcoming model is likely to be introduced as a slightly more affordable alternative to Grand Vitara, and will be retailed exclusively through Arena dealerships. While the new Maruti SUV is widely referred as the ‘Escudo’, the official name will be different.
The new Maruti midsize SUV is likely to share its design elements, features, engines, and platform with the Grand Vitara. This means, the model will be offered with the 103bhp, 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid, a 115bhp, 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid and a factory-fitted CNG option. The mild hybrid version will come with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options, while the strong hybrid model will feature an e-CVT transmission.
The Maruti Escudo (as known so far) will be the new flagship model for the Arena lineup. It will also be Maruti Suzuki’s first model to come with Level-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and Dolby Atmos tech. It will also get a powered tailgate and 4WD (four-wheel drive) system.
