India’s two largest passenger vehicle manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India are ready to light up 2025 Diwali season with two new product launches – the Maruti Escudo and the new-generation Hyundai Venue. The Escudo is scheduled to go on sale on 3rd September, while the launch date of the all-new Venue is yet to be announced. Let’s take a look at the key details of these two upcoming SUVs.
Maruti Escudo
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed the launch of a new SUV; however, its name and details are yet to be revealed. As per media reports, the upcoming model is likely to be the Maruti Escudo – a midsize SUV, which will be sold exclusively through Arena dealerships. It will be based on the Grand Vitara, sharing its platform, features, design and powertrains. This means, it could be offered with three fuel options – a 103bhp, 1.5L petrol, a 116bhp hybrid powertrain and a CNG variant.
The new Maruti Escudo is reported to be the brand’s first model to feature Level-2 ADAS suite and Dolby Atmos audio technology. Leaked images reveal that its front fascia will look different from the Grand Vitara. The Escudo will carry a sealed-off grille, newly-designed headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and updated fog lamps.

New-Gen Hyundai Venue
With the generation upgrade, the Hyundai Venue will receive significant updates in terms of design and features. Its cabin is expected to be upgraded with features such as a newly-designed dashboard, new upholstery and trims, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, updated instrument cluster, and larger infotainment system. The compact SUV might also receive Level-2 ADAS suite and rear disc brakes.
The 2025 Hyundai Venue will retain its original upright stance, while the front fascia will be completely revised. Spy images reveal that the SUV will feature a newly-designed grille with distinctive inserts, revised bumper, new LED DRLs and a DCT badge on the fenders.
No changes will be made to its engine setup. Similar to the current generation, the all-new Venue will come with three engine options – an 83PS, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, a 120PS, 1.0L turbo petrol and a 116PS, 1.5L diesel.
