KTM India has released the first teaser of its upcoming 160 Duke motorcycle, which will be introduced as a replacement to the KTM 125 Duke. While the official date is yet to be announced, the bike is expected to hit roads in the coming weeks. Let’s take a look what we can expected from the new KTM 160 Duke.
Engine Specs:
Expected Engine | 160cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled |
Expected Power | 18PS-20PS |
Expected Torque | 15Nm-16Nm |
Though official details are still under the wraps, the new 160 Duke is likely to feature a new 160cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which essentially be a downsized version of the 200 Duke’s engine. This new motor might be capable of producing a maximum power of around 18PS-20PS and torque between 15Nm-16Nm.
Mechanical Components:
Most of the hardware is likely to be borrowed from the KTM Duke 200. The upcoming KTM 160 Duke could be equipped with inverted front fork and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking power might come from the same 300mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes. The bike is expected to ride on the 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 110-section front and 150-section rear tubeless tyres.
Expected Features:
The new KTM Duke 160 will likely to come with an all-LED lighting system. It might get a TFT or LCD cluster, supporting Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS alerts, music controls and more.
Price Expectations:
With estimated prices of around Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the new KTM Duke 160 will become the most affordable offering from the Austrian bikemaker in the country. If launched at this price point, the Duke 160 will directly compete with the Yamaha MT-15 V2, which is currently available in the price range of Rs 1,69,550 – Rs 1,80,550.
